Orientierung in der komplexen Welt der Währungen

Britisches Pfund, Schweizer Franken, Euro, Yen oder US-Dollar – das ist nur ein Bruchteil der Währungen weltweit. Bei privaten Reisen ins Ausland sind Devisen relevant. Eine tragende Rolle spielen sie im Kontext von institutionellen Portfolios.

Inwieweit der Devisenmarkt auch Bestandteil des Depots ist, erläuterten Dominik Müller, Head of Currency Management, und Achim Walde, Head of Currency Management Advisory, auf der „Portfolio Manager Conference“ von Scope. Barbara Claus, Analystin bei Scope, führte durch das Webinar. 

Zunächst stellten die beiden Experten sich und das Bankhaus Metzler vor, zu dessen Alleinstellungsmerkmalen die Unabhängigkeit sowie die 350-jährige Tradition zählen.

Scope bescheinigt Metzler Asset Management mit einem Rating von AA eine sehr gute Qualität und eine hohe Kompetenz beim Management der nachhaltigen fundamentalen Strategien.

Das professionelle Währungsmanagement von Metzler Capital Markets bietet zahlreiche Vorteile, wie Müller ausführte. Claus hob zudem hervor, dass Scope erst kürzlich im Rahmen eines Team-Ratings das Currency-Management-Team von Metzler mit der Note AA ausgezeichnet hat. Positiv in die Bewertung eingeflossen seien insbesondere die Aspekte:

  • Transparente regelgebundene Strategien
  • Erfahrenes und stabiles Team
  • Hohe Kundenorientierung
  • Flexibilität

Im zweiten Teil der Live-Konferenz verdeutlichte Walde, wie wichtig das Management von Währungsrisiken sei: Währungen sind das größte Finanzmarktsegment der Welt. Rund 7,5 Bio. US-Dollar werden täglich auf dem Devisenmarkt gehandelt, wie die Bank für Internationalen Zahlungsausgleich in ihrer jüngsten Untersuchung zu den Währungsströmen rund um den Globus ermittelt hat. Zudem sei die Zielsetzung im Overlay an den Bedarf des institutionellen Kunden angepasst, um Risiken zu begrenzen, Stabilität zu sichern oder Ertrag zu erzielen.
