Chance auf Leitzinssenkung und Aufschwung?

Der konjunkturelle Abschwung hat auch die USA erreicht – das zeigt nicht zuletzt der Arbeitsmarktbericht. "Wie schlimm wird es? Unsere Indikatoren zeigen eine moderatere Rezession", so Edgar Walk von Metzler Asset Management. Laut Walk haben die Zentralbanken alles richtig gemacht. "Wir erwarten, dass die Inflation in den USA hartnäckig hoch bleiben wird." Die hohen Energiepreise in Europa stellen keine inflationäre Gefahr dar – solange sie nicht steigen. "Die Finanzmärkte erwarten 3 % Inflation im nächsten Jahr, der Konsensus der Volkswirte 2,7 %, und wir sind bei 2 %." Die Gründe: Lieferkettenentspannung, fallende Erzeugerpreise und Importpreise, der Arbeitsmarkt und die Konjunktur schwächen sich ab, die Geldmenge schrumpft. "Somit besteht die Chance auf Leitzinssenkungen."

Edgar Walk joined Metzler in 2000. As Chief Economist in the asset management division, he is responsible for formulating our global economic outlook. Due to his close cooperation with the portfolio management, he focuses on capital market themes as well as on global economic analyses. Mr. Walk holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Tübingen in Germany and spent a semester at the University of Doshisha in Kyoto, Japan. In addition, he completed the program “Advanced Studies in International Economic Policy Research“ at the Institute of World Economy in Kiel, Germany.
