Ein Jahr Krieg in der Ukraine. Welchen Einfluss hat dieser Schwarze Schwan auf die internationalen Märkte? Edgar Walk, Chefvolkswirt von Metzler Asset Management im Interview mit Börsen Radio Network: "Das Thema war schon nach sechs Monaten mehr oder weniger beendet. Börsen sind kein moralisches Instrument." Walk freut sich über die Öffnung Chinas und lobt die europäische Wirtschaftspolitik, insbesondere die Gaspreisbremse. "Damit hat sich der Konsum in Europa stabilisieren können." Trotzdem zeichnet er aufgrund der Leitzinserhöhungen ein eher negatives Zukunftsbild. "Man sollte nie unterschätzen, wie wirkmächtig Zinsen sind. Hohe Zinsen bedeuten 2024 weniger Wirtschaftswachstum." Der Ausblick von Wal Mart enttäuscht und erschreckt die Anleger. Walk erwartet eine "Stagnation der Gewinne auf hohem Niveau". Bleiben Aktien alternativlos? "Ich erwarte keinen großen Crash, aber ein Umfeld, in dem die Aktien auf der Stelle treten. Als Altersvorsorge bleiben Aktien unersetzlich."

Edgar Walk joined Metzler in 2000. As Chief Economist in the asset management division, he is responsible for formulating our global economic outlook. Due to his close cooperation with the portfolio management, he focuses on capital market themes as well as on global economic analyses. Mr. Walk holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Tübingen in Germany and spent a semester at the University of Doshisha in Kyoto, Japan. In addition, he completed the program “Advanced Studies in International Economic Policy Research“ at the Institute of World Economy in Kiel, Germany.
